Claire’s make-up recalled because of asbestos fibers

On Tuesday afternoon Claire’s Stores, Inc. announced a voluntary recall of three make-up products for possible asbestos contamination.

Those recalled products are Claire’s Eye shadows, Claire’s Compact Powder and Claire’s Contour Palette.

Claire’s said they decided to recall the products after after testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed that some samples had asbestos fibers. Inhalation of asbestos over time has been linked to serious adverse health consequences.

Claire’s said they’ve pulled those products from their shelves. If you have them at home, you stop using them and throw them away immediately.
