TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT)– The Topeka Fire Department responded to a fire in north Topeka on Saturday morning,

Shawnee County Dispatch tells KSNT News the call came in around 9 a.m. about a fire near 1st and North Kansas Avenue.

Dispatch said the building looks to be under construction or vacant. Smoke appeared to be coming from the third floor.

The Fire Department requested additional help and crews were able to put the fire out within the hour. Dispatch said the fire occurred on the second and third floors.

After fire fighters put the fire out, they worked on ventilating the building.

No injuries were reported.
