Fire crews battled a fire Tuesday morning in northeast Shawnee County.

The Soldier Township Fire Department responded to the fire around 2 a.m. in the 2100 block of northeast 56th Street. The crews discovered an RV and barn fully engulfed in flames.  Firefighters called in help from the Rock Creek Fire Department and spent about 40 minutes containing the fire.

The RV, building and its contents were determined to be total losses. The Kansas State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
