Governor Kelly spent her Monday giving back to the community.
The governor volunteered at the Harvesters food pantry in Topeka as part of her Day of Service event.
She helped package food for people in need. She said events like this are important to show Kansans that she cares and Monday was the perfect day to do it.
“I’m here to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, his birthday, just the way I think he’d like it to be celebrated, by people helping others,” Kelly said.
Harvesters provides food to the community year round. They said leaders showing up to help like this really makes a difference to them.
