The CEO of a local hospital is hoping to reopen hospital doors soon.
Horton Community Hospital closed its doors to patients last month. Since then, the hospital filed for bankruptcy but is now working to reopen.
Yesterday, there was a choir fundraiser to help the staff get things back in order.
Hospital CEO Ty Compton says they are doing everything they can to get employees paid as well.
“The staff has had one paycheck since the first of February, and so on working with the Department of Labor, and with the bankruptcy courts, unemployment, things like that to try and help,” said Compton.
The choir event raised $750. Compton says the money will go toward supplies.
He hopes to have the clinic back open sometime this week.
