TOPEKA (KSNT) – A house fire in Topeka caused over $60,000 worth of damage according to the Topeka Fire Department on Friday.
The fire started shortly before 5:30 p.m. at 804 SE 33rd St. Fire crews found smoke and flames coming from the one and a half story house and began an offensive fire attack. No occupants were found inside the house during a search.
The TFD is currently investigating the cause of the fire. Preliminary estimates show that $62,480 worth of damage was inflicted on the house: $57,480 for structural loss and $5,000 for contents lost. Working smoke detectors were inside of the home during the fire.
