One local university is getting a little help re-building, from people in Lawrence.
A fire did extensive damage to the inside of K-State’s Hale Library, along with many of the books and resources, last May.
Employees with the Lawrence Public Library wanted to step in and help out their friends in Manhattan.
They had gotten several cook books from people in the area this winter for their book sale. But they decided to donate them to the Hale Library instead of selling them.
Officials said the cookbook collection at K-State’s Hale Library is one of the top research collections of it’s kind in the U.S.
The books are in storage right now until the library re-opens.
The library hopes to donate even more books in the future.
