An event aimed at helping people achieve their goals this year is coming to Downtown Topeka this weekend. “Jump In 2019” will be at The Pennant at 915 S Kansas Ave on Saturday.
Family Counselor and Life Coach Bob Clifton says the most common mistake people make is setting too many goals at once.
“A lot of people are trying to hit three, five, seven, ten goals and now we’ve got neuroscience that shows us we can really concentrate on one or two new things at once,” said Clifton, who is organizing the “Jump In 2019” event.
Clifton says there are three main steps to achieving your goals:
- Identify and set one or two goals that you want to work on.
- Identify ways to measure these goals. These are metrics or “mini goals” that will help you along your journey.
- Identify a community or support system that will motivate you and help keep you accountable.
