Man dies after west Topeka shooting Saturday night

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - One man is dead after being shot in west Topeka Saturday night. Police responded to the report of a shooting at 1192 SW Hillsdale St around 8:50 p.m. 

Officers said when they got there they found 25-year-old Robert McKinsey James in the yard. He was unresponsive and had several gunshot wounds.

First responders performed first aid on James, and he was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police are looking for an older, boxy, dark colored suv that drove away shortly after the shooting. There were several people inside the car.
