There’s a new Miss Wheelchair Kansas.
Andrea Romero was crowned as 2019 Miss Wheelchair Kansas on Sunday.
She was selected by a panel of judges based on her platform and interests.
She says she plans to use her new title to bring attention to personal care attendants for people in wheelchairs.
“It’s very empowering and it’s a beautiful opportunity to be able to serve others as a hispanic woman and just to be able to speak out for issues with disabilities,” said Romero.
Romero will spend the next year talking to schools and legislators to raise awareness for people with disabilities.
She will also be able to compete in Miss Wheelchair U.S.A.
