CLOUD COUNTY (KSNT) – Another former jail employee has been arrested for the second day in a row by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and the agency is looking to arrest another out-of-state.
The KBI said Friday that authorities arrested former Cloud County Jail Lt. Nicholas Clanin, 33, of Concordia. He faces charges including:
- Misuse of public funds
- Official misconduct
- Destroying a written instrument
Alongside arresting Clanin, the KBI said it put out an arrest warrant for Alexandra Wilcox, 22, of Shawnee, Okla. Another former corrections officer at the Cloud County Jail, the agency said it is looking for her for misdemeanor theft stemming from the same case.
The KBI said arresting officials booked Clanin into the Republic County Jail. The KBI first told KSNT News about the two-year Cloud County Jail investigation when it arrested the facility’s former administrator, Amber Lindberg, and her mother on Thursday. A spokesperson for the KBI said after looking into Lindberg while she worked there in 2019, it discovered she used public county funds for personal purchases.
