5 people die in head-on crash on I-70

MAPLE HILL, Kan. (KSNT) – All lanes are open on westbound I-70 after a Sunday morning crash that killed at least five peoples, according to The Kansas Highway Patrol.

According to KHP, David Mascote, the driver of a Ford pickup truck, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes and hit a van. Mascote and four of the five people in the van died.

The fifth passenger of the van is was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital and is being treated for suspected serious injury.
