VIDEO: One person in custody after car crashes into southwest Topeka apartment building

UPDATE: 18-year-old Frank Z. Ward was identified as the suspect in the crash. Ward was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He was charged with possession of stolen property, flee and elude, interference, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and reckless driving.


TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – One person is in custody after a car crashed into an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon in southwest Topeka.

This happened around 2 p.m. near Southwest Westport Drive and Southwest 23rd Terrace. That’s near the Whispering Pines Apartments.

Frank Z. Ward was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property, obstruction, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer after driving a car into an apartment on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 in Topeka.
