TOPEKA (KSNT) – A semi-tractor trailer fire at US-75 over NW 46th Street delayed traffic Wednesday morning. Shawnee County dispatch encouraged all motorists to avoid the area.

All southbound lanes were closed but have since reopened.

The truck was hauling a carnival ride when it appeared to slam into the barrels at the exit, causing foam to blanket the highway. The truck came to rest with the cab hanging over the edge of the bridge in the southbound lanes. The driver escaped after the cab burst into flames. The cab was completely destroyed.
