A Shawnee County Corrections employee is in jail for trying to sneak contraband into a facility.
Deputy director Tim Phelps said officers arrested Caleb Sanders Thursday.
Sanders just started working for the corrections department six months ago.
Supervisors said they got word Sanders was trying to bring in dangerous contraband, which is a felony.
Officials didn’t say what it was he was trying to get into the jail.
After reviewing security footage and interviewing Sanders, investigators found enough evidence to arrest him.
Sanders was booked into jail Thursday night.
He is now on administrative leave and an internal investigation is underway.
