Shawnee County District Attorney announces arrest in Fairlawn Green Apartments triple homicide

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay announced Monday a man who’s a suspect in a August 2016 double homicide was arrested.

In August 2016, Dominique D. Ray and Camrah J. Trotter were found dead in their apartment at the Fairlawn Green Apartments. Kagay said Camrah was pregnant at the time of the homicide. Therefore, Kagay said this was a triple homicide.

Kagay said Monday he’s filed charges of capital murder, premeditated murder, attempted murder, rape, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping and aggravated burglary against Yanez C. Sanford in relation to the triple homicide.

Sanford is in the Jackson County, Missouri jail on $1,000,000 bond.
