Topeka police are looking for two men in connection with a fight Wednesday afternoon at the Phillips 66 service station at 2024 SE California Ave., where a gun was fired numerous times.
Police said the two men were fighting for control of the gun when the gun began to fire several times.
Police said there was no indication that anyone was struck by the bullets.
A caller had reported hearing shots fired at around 2:30 p.m. and dispatchers could hear them in the background.
Officers arrived shortly after the call, but the men had fled the scene in two separate cars.
One was described as a silver Toyota Camry southbound on California, the other was a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo which took off north on California.
Video surveillance show the two men started the fight inside the store, but police are not yet releasing that footage.
The store was closed for a time Wednesday afternoon as officers continued the investigation.
Police want anyone with information about the two men involved in the fight to call the TPD Criminal Investigation Bureau at 785-368-9400 or Shawnee County Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007 or make anonymous tips online at www.p3tips.com/128.
