Anne Yoder from Silver Lake was announced as the winner of the St. Jude Dream Home Thursday night.
Yoder said she drove by the house a few weeks ago to see what it looked like, but never went inside.
When she and her husband went inside for the first time, they couldn’t believe the dream home is actually theirs.
“I first got a call from a high school friend of mine,” said Yoder. “She was screaming saying that I won and I thought she was joking.”
Yoder said she and her husband were amazed at how beautiful the house was on the outside and on the inside, and that it instantly felt like home.
“I can already imagine the kids sitting at the bar and the game on, the K-State game on T.V.,” said Yoder.
On top of seeing their new home, they got to meet Avery Kiehl who received treatment through St. Jude for a brain tumor.
“It really makes you realize the impact that something like this has on real people,” said Yoder.
Through the St. Jude Dream Home giveaway, $750,000 was raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
