Topeka businesses continue to help family after fire destroys their home

Help is pouring in for a family who lost their home, and everything in it, after a fire. Their home caught fire in southwest Topeka in March. The family was on spring break when it went happened and came home to their house completely destroyed.

People around town are stepping up to help.

Sky Zone donated ticket proceeds from an event to the family. Now, other businesses around town are doing the same.

Red’s Auto is turning a race season kick-off party into a fundraiser for the family.

“As far as I’m concerned, the dirt track family is exactly what it is, family,” Shawn Ray from Red’s Auto said. “If someone’s in need, we’re going to step up and try to help out, it’s a family that’s exactly what it is.”

Anyone is welcome to attend and it all starts at 6:00 on Saturday. There will be food and live music.

They are not charging anything to go, but are encouraging you to donate, with 100 percent of what is raised will go to the family.
