Topeka man wakes up to find car on fire along with racial slurs

Local News

A Topeka man woke up Friday morning to find not only racial slurs written on his car, but that it had been set on fire.

Marc Thompson tells KSNT News he woke up at 3 a.m. to find his car on fire at his north Topeka home.

The Topeka Fire Department said they responded to the vehicle fire just after 4 a.m.

Thompson says he has no idea why he is being targeted.

“Do you have any clues? Do you have any idea of who it could be? Have you got in a fight with anybody and I mean I’m a pretty love-able person for the most part so I don’t,” said Thompson. “I really do not have any clue.”

When crews arrived they found the vehicle with the interior passenger side involved with fire.

KSNT News reached out to Topeka Police Friday afternoon who said no police report had been filed. Thompson said he plans to file one later in the day.

The fire has been determined to be intentionally set and is under investigation at this time by the fire department.
