The Topeka Public Schools Foundation held its annual memorial benefit golf tournament Thursday.
They also had auction items signed by notable athletes like Patrick Mahomes and Gary Woodland.
Executive Director of the TPS Foundation Pamela Johnson-Betts said the money raised from the event will go a long way for many of their students.
“Seventy-nine percent of our students are on free or reduced lunches,“ said Johnson-Betts. “So, for the foundation to be able to raise these private dollars to support our students that need so much, we at the foundation stand so proud.“
The money raised from the tournament goes towards educational grants, scholarships and other services and programs.
