Topeka woman honors her late dad with trip to Wing Fling

Local News

Local restaurants battled for title of the best wings in town, all brought together by the annual Wing Fling.

For some people, this was the first time going to the wing event. As well as trying the different local and chain restaurants for the first time. For many people the event is a day to have fun and enjoy good food.

But for Kristen Main, Wing Fling brings back memories of her dad, who died a few years ago.

“We haven’t had good hot wings since he passed away,” said Main. “So I’ve been wanting to come to the Wing Fling for a while, and this will be the first time actually getting to come.”

Our meteorologists were also at the event. Chief meteorologist Matt Miller was the MC. While Christina Reis, was the judge for the wing contest. So if your favorite wing didn’t win, she’s the one to contact.
