“Trunk or Treat” provides safe Halloween alternative in Topeka

Local News

The Topeka Police Department is throwing the 3rd Annual “Trunk or Treat” tonight in Downtown Topeka. Organizers hope to provide families a safe place to trick or treat on Halloween.

“You don’t have to deal with traffic and children running in front of moving cars and such. The street will be blocked off that way everything is safe. Also you know it’s a safe community being right in front of the police department,” said Lt. Andrew Beightel.

This year, the department has expanded to event and will be blocking 4th Street between Monroe and Kansas Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

“Trunk or Treat” runs from 5:30 pm to 8 pm outside the Topeka Police Department.
