Douglas County emergency crews are treating patients hurt in Tuesday evening’s tornado.

Douglas County Emergency Management tweeted that no one was killed by last night’s tornado touchdown. However, they have heard of 15 weather-related and three serious injuries.

They and Lawrence police have advised the public not to sightsee storm damage as crews work to clear uprooted trees, power lines and debris from roads.

The tornado ripped through Pleasant Grove, Lawrence, Eudora, Lindwood and Bonner Springs. Over 14,000 Westar Energy customers lost power from the storm, and nearly 4,000 were still in the dark Wednesday morning.
