Two Topeka Cub Scouts earn prestigious award

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - Two Topeka Cub Scouts received an award that hasn't been given out since 2015.

Daniel McKee and Hudson Rannebeck of Pack 175 received the Dr. Luis Alvarez Supernova Award Saturday night.

It's given to Cub Scouts for their superior achievement in completing a series of STEM-related activities.

"If there's other boy scouts out there, they should really do this," said McKee. "It's really awesome and challenging and you can actually learn some very very helpful stuff."

Several other Cub Scouts were honored during the ceremony as along with pack leaders.
