If you rely on Uber to get around, you will not be able to do that for much of the afternoon and evening Wednesday as Uber drivers in many major cities across the country will be on strike.

The protesting drivers will not be taking any passengers between noon and midnight local time. They’re upset with Uber, saying the company doesn’t pay them enough and needs to improve work conditions, including how long they can drive.

The strike will happen one day before the rideshare service will issue its initial public offering, which could generate billions of dollars for the company.
