UPDATE: Suspects arrested after overnight robbery ends in shooting

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the overnight robbery that ended with one man in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Following an investigation, TPD questioned and arrested Antonio Beltran and Alex Marin, both 19, Wednesday morning. 

Marin was arrested for conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and Beltran was arrested for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary. 

This comes after a man was shot during an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning in south Topeka.

Police responded to a call for an attempted robbery around 3:50 a.m. They found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the 1300 block of Southwest Caledon Street, in the neighborhood behind Wild Horse Saloon.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
