A local health care provider for military veterans opened a center entirely dedicated to meet women’s needs.
VA Eastern Kansas Healthcare opened a new health center in Topeka today.
Women veterans are one of the fastest growing veteran populations.
That group is projected to grow 25 percent in just the next ten years.
“The biggest benefit of the new facility is going to that it’s all inclusive or that there’s more expanded services,” said Kansas Army National Guard Major Flora Carson. “So when you show up for an appointment here versus going to multiple locations you can pretty much get everything taken care of here.”
The center helps women with primary care, mammograms, child care and mental health needs.
