Water main breaks to tie up traffic for weeks at major Topeka intersection

Local News

UPDATE: Authorities with the city of Topeka have announced because of the location of the water main breaks, the southbound lanes on Gage Blvd. need to remain closed.

To allow traffic to flow, we will be taking the northbound lanes and turning one temporarily into a southbound lane. This should be familiar as we had this set up last year for construction. There will be no left turns for north or south in this location.

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two water main breaks will keep the southbound lanes on Gage, just north of 29th Street, closed for a minimum of two weeks. Drivers are able to go north.

Detours have been setup for southbound traffic. City authorities are warning residents that using private property to cut through detours is illegal and motorists can be ticketed.
