Marketing students test drive their future career at MB Piland

Some local college students got to test drive their future career before they graduate. Every year MB Piland Advertising and Marketing brings students to their office to learn about the business.

A group of students from Washburn, Allen Community College and Wichita State visited the marketing agency Wednesday. The students got a glimpse of what a day looks like in a marketing agency. 

They learned marketing techniques and interview dos and don’ts. The CEO, Martha Bartlett Piland, said it gives students an idea of how to market themselves to employers.

“A shadow day like this really helps students understand what it’s like to work in that profession, and I think they’re better prepared to go into the profession,” Piland said.

There are only six spots for the shadow day. Students have to apply to attend the event.
