TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Highland Park boys basketball program is under new leadership. Michael Williams takes over for Jason Jones as the head coach of the Scots for the 2018-19 season.

Williams has been an assistant at Topeka West under Rick Bloomquist.

“He means a lot to me,” says Bloomquist. “He is goign to be the coach of the future. I believe that. I don’t say things unless it comes from my heart.”

“I’m a basketball guy, so you search for these opportunities,” said Williams. “You want to be part of the game as much as you can and I have been blessed with this opportunity.”
