Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be on the opening night presentation of the “2019 NFL Draft on ABC.” The former first round draft pick will join Robin Roberts, host of “Good Morning America,” before the first pick during the broadcast of Round 1.
Seth Markman, vice president of Event and Studio Production, ESPN said Mahomes will talk about his own draft experience and his first two seasons as an NFL quarterback.
“Patrick Mahomes will be among the many special guests who will be part of ABC’s first-ever prime time broadcasts of the NFL Draft,” Markman said. The MVP and one of the biggest stars in football today, our viewers will enjoy hearing about his personal draft experience and what it’s like for the players going through the draft process.”
Last year the NFL named Mahomes its Most Valuable Player. In his first season as quarterback, he led his team to a 12-4 regular-season record and an appearance in the AFC Championship game.
