Perseid meteor shower peaks while clouds in place

The annual Perseid meteor shower will peak tonight.

Many astronomers are projecting a peak of nearly 200 meteors per hour at the peak tonight. Unfortunately, we may see too much cloud cover to see the meteor shower in Kansas tonight. However, the meteors will continue for several days after the peak. Looking northeast in the evening and more directly overhead during the middle of the night, you’ll see the meteors emerging from the constellation Perseus.
