The Center for Peace and Justice and Living The Dream Inc. held a Soup Supper and Celebration Monday evening to honor and recognize the work of Martin Luther King Jr., at El Shaddai Ministries Church, 920 SE Sherman Ave.

Jim Mccullough with the Center for Peace and Justice said it was a night to talk about King and his legacy.

“Martin Luther King wanted his people to be set free, and not just people of color. All people. For whatever way justice may have hit us. King had that vision and that dream,” Mccullough said, “So that’s what I want people to hear. What a great man he was. What a great testimony, what an incredible passion he had for justice.”

Ronnie Cushinberry was Moderator for the evening, Pastor Rosetta West gave the Invocation and Cindy White gave the greeting. Shanae Holman was keynote speaker for the event.
