Topeka police took a young man to jail Monday morning as the accused gunman in a North Topeka shooting.

Jacob I. Reisinger, 18, faces charges of aggravated battery, felon in possession of a firearm and criminal discharge of a firearm. Police say he shot 29-year-old Shawn Bell Sunday evening in the area of Northwest Morse Street and Central Avenue. Bell’s injuries were determined not life-threatening.

Topeka police say Reisinger and Bell knew each other, and thanked the public for their assistance in the investigation.
