Paul Davis is gaining an edge on Steve Watkins, according to a fresh poll by national eyes watching the Kansas 2nd Congressional District race.
The New York Times released a poll conducted from Oct. 27 to Oct. 30 that asked 2nd District Kansans who they were voting for between the two. Poll results indicate Democrat Davis has a slight lead polling with 41 percent, while Republican Watkins has 37 percent.
There were some 15 percent of responders who were still undecided. Libertarian candidate Kelly Standley was not included in the poll.
The New York Times reports the survey data was gathered with 15,509 phone calls, and 501 respondents. A disclaimer on the poll said there was room for a 5 percent discrepancy on each candidates’ total.
The race between Watkins and Davis will be determined Tuesday in the 2018 Kansas midterm election.
