The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation gave back to a local high school Friday night.

They partnered up with Royal Vally High School for the Cultural Extravaganza to celebrate the tribe’s culture with the community.

The PBP Nation’s color gaurd We – Ta – Se Post 410 presented the colors, while tribal members performed a flag song before the basketball game.

They also provided brand new warm ups for the boys and girls basketball teams.

The uniforms incorporate elements of the tribe’s culture as well as the school.

“With our native population here at Royal Valley High School, I tried to think of someway that we can incorporate and celebrate our Native American heritage here in the school in some way during the season,” said girls basketball coach Kyle Porter.

The Boys & Girls club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation also took part in the festivities by selling indian tacos for everyone to enjoy.
