Topeka has seen a lot of rain this week. That’s not usually a good thing for city construction projects.
City engineer Brian Faust said the city planned for some rainy days. So, while the weather is causing a temporary delay, they are still on track to finish many projects on time.
“We’ve had a good summer just because of the drought, that sounds bad but it’s allowed us to get a lot more work done than we anticipated up front. So while this is frustrating, it’s getting towards the end of the year and we’re still on schedule,” Faust said.
He said they’re hoping to wrap up a lot of the projects by the end of the month.
