Rain chances tonight, another hot and humid one tomorrow

Increasing cloud cover tonight could give way to some showers and storms overnight. The best chance of rain will be for our western and northern areas, with just the tail end of the rain still lingering around early tomorrow morning. Otherwise, that additional cloud cover will keep us slightly warmer with overnight lows right around 70 degrees.

A few more clouds are expected for early Sunday as temperatures will once again climb into the low to mid 90s. However, it will be on the humid to muggy side once again. That muggy air will help drive up heat index values to right around that triple digit mark in spots, if not a couple degrees hotter than that. That added moisture in the air could help fuel a pop up shower or storm during the remainder of Sunday, but it’s a low additional chance for rain overall.

For the eclipse on Monday, partly cloudy conditions are still expected before increasing rain chances roll in late Monday into Tuesday. That rain chance will be due to our next cold front that’ll pass through, dropping temperatures back down into the 80s starting on Tuesday.
