What We’re Tracking:
- Rain likely overnight and Saturday morning
- Strong winds for Saturday afternoon
- Rain again Tuesday and Wednesday with possible thunder
Overnight, a system makes its way in from the west. The main batch of showers moves in early on Saturday morning. The heaviest pockets of rain look to be to the east, but we could get some thudner and heavier rainfall with storms in our eastern half. Rain should be out of our hair by the afternoon. By that point, clouds start to break up as well, helping us warm up into the 50s by the afternoon.
Sunny conditions and a breeze continue into our Sunday, and we start the new week in the mid to upper 40s. The next system we are watching will arrive in the middle of the work week.
Daytime showers will move through northeast Kansas on Tuesday, and some overnight as well. During the overnight hours into Wednesday morning, it is possible we could get some thunder out of heavier showers as well. The likelihood for a couple thunderstorms lasts until the afternoon on Wednesday, where we will likely see a few showers as the system leaves the area.
By Thursday, we are looking at another breezy and partly sunny day with highs near 50. Over the next week temperatures will be closer to where they should be for this time of year.
