A murder case in the central Kansas town of Russell has resulted in an arrest. There is a suspect in custody for the April 2017 murder of a 14-month-old toddler.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday that Jody S. Fox, 27, of Russell was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse. The KBI said Fox was in a relationship with the child’s mother. Authorities were called after the child, identified as Gabriel Usoro died at a Wichita hospital of undisclosed injuries.
Fox was taken into custody by the KBI, Russell City Police and the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently in the Russell County Detention Center.
The KBI did not elaborate on how the investigation unfolded, but said that the Kansas Attorney General’s Office would be prosecuting the case.
