It’s prom season, and seniors danced the night away Monday, but the seniors at this dance aren’t what you usually think of when you hear senior prom.
Members of the LULAC Senior Center cut a rug at Shawnee Heights High School. The school hosted them for a special prom night.
Students and seniors danced together to the band’s jazz tunes. The director of the senior center, Kathy Votaw, said it’s showing the kids you’re never too old to have a good time.
“Age is only a number. It doesn’t matter how old you are, we have 89-year-old people out here dancing,” she said.
The students also go to LULAC each semester to talk with the people there and learn about their life experience.
