Crime Stoppers posted a cash reward for information on a recent string of vandalism to cars in Shawnee County.
Since December, a series of car window smashings and shootings has plagued the county. Vandals hit over 50 cars over four days early last month, and shot out 14 car windows with pellet guns in Topeka in the last 24 hours. Shawnee County Crime Stoppers said there has also been an increase in similar vandalism in the county’s Montara Subdivision.
The Wednesday night shootings sparked a campaign by Topeka police to heighten officer presence in areas around the incidents. Simultaneously, a spokesman for Shawnee County Crime Stoppers announced they are offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the vandalism cases.
Anyone with information regarding these can contact Shawnee County Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
