Stroke survivor thanks first responders for saving her life

A local stroke survivor had the opportunity to say thank you today.

Ramona Copp suffered a stroke a couple of years ago.

Staff from AMR, Auburn firefighters and doctors at the University of Kansas Health System at St. Francis helped save her life.

Today they were all recognized for their work.

“I couldn’t image what it would be like not being able to talk or anything, so the least I could do is comfort her and hold her hand going into the hospital and that’s what I did,” said paramedic Jared Cavin. “Here she is enjoying her normal life and everything again.”

All the responders were given plaques to recognize their hard work.
