Superheroes visit the Topeka Rescue Mission

Superheroes paid a visit to the Topeka Rescue Mission Saturday afternoon to bring kids and their families some Christmas cheer.

On top of enjoying food and music, they got to hang out with Batman.

But, he didn’t come to the party empty handed.

He presented the rescue mission with a five thousand dollar check to help them continue serving the community.

“The staff at the Topeka Rescue Mission, those are the true heroes,” said NIC CEO Harry Herington. “I’m here to show them honor and show them respect. They get up every day to feed these families, clothe these children and make sure they have a safe place.”

First responders were also honored at the celebration for all they do to keep the community safe.
