A local children’s camp is getting new owners, and a new name.
Camp Daisy will now be in the hands of a Manhattan based camp called Hope Ranch. The camp will now be called Mission Creek Camp.
The camp will still focus on servicing children and adults with disabilities.
Camp organizers, Ken and Kassidy Scroggs, said they are happy to keep the camp going, but they’re happier when they see people enjoying themselves.
“If you have a bad day, show up, it’ll go away,” Ken Scroggs said tearfully. “Watching them, and watching them laugh and play. Do whatever they do, and ride the horse, that kind of stuff. I just think it’s incredible. That’s all. It’s just good.”
The camp will mainly cater to emotional and physical disabilities.
The owners plan to do a little remodeling, including paved roads for wheelchairs.
