TOPEKA, Kan.(KSNT)- The Topeka Easter Parade and Family Fun Fair will be back for the second consecutive year on Saturday.
Last year’s event was attended by over 1,000 people who made their way to Gage Park to watch the parade, collect eggs in two Easter egg hunts, visit the Fun Fair, listen to live music and enjoy the other attractions the park has to offer.
Dozens of churches, businesses and non-profit organizations took part in the parade, and dozens more set up vendor booths and kids games in the park as part of the fair. There were lots of floats and vehicles of all shapes and sizes, as well as entities such as schools, military groups, and more. The event is coordinated by the Capital City Christian Chamber of Commerce.
This year the Fun Fair will be at 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the parade will start at 10:30 a.m.. This year, even more churches, non-profit organizations, schools and local businesses are expected to enter floats and marching bands in the parade, as well as booths in the Fun Fair.
The Family Fair will consist of activities geared toward children and families, as well as booths, exhibits, band etc, including activities such as egg hunts, children’s games, scavenger hunts, and face painting at the Big Gage Shelter and the Children’s Party House.
There will be an egg hunt at 9 a.m. and 1p.m. in the Animal Land Playground.
