Topeka organizations making blankets for newborn babies

Two Topeka organizations are teaming up to help mothers in need.

Successful Connections and the Federal Home Loan Bank are tying blankets for newborn babies once they leave the hospital.

People from Successful Connections go the hospital everyday with these blankets for newborns. But that’s not all the program does. They also help mothers in need.

Most of their clients are mothers who are at risk, helping them with child health and even parenting support.

“The program we refer them to will help them with all these things,” Jane Redger from Successful Connections said. “And so we want them all to have the best fighting chance that they can. And the more healthy our community is, the better it is as a whole.”

The bank provided their space to help with the tying. The bank also donated $800 to Successful Connections through a fundraiser.
