Weather challenges have caused a change in the date for next year’s drag races at Heartland Motorsports Park.
According to a statement from the facility, the NHRA Heartland Nationals has consistently faced inclement weather over the years, including last weekend at the 2018 Menards Heartland Nationals presented by Minties, where eliminations had to be finished on Monday following the race weekend due to rain.
Because of the continuous bad weather at Heartland Motorsports Park, NHRA has agreed to move the event further into the season.
The new date will be June 7-9, 2019, and will continue to be on this weekend moving forward.
The National Hot Rod Association and Heartland Motorsports Park believe that this date change will be beneficial for everyone, especially the fans who come from all over the Midwest to Topeka for the event.
