Transition: Governor Coyler meets with Governor-elect Kelly

One day after winning the Kansas governor seat, Laura Kelly met with Governor Jeff Colyer to discuss the logistics of transitioning power to the new administration over the next few weeks. 

In a press release, Gov. Colyer said he is committed to creating a smooth transition for Governor-elect Kelly. 

“I would like to congratulate Governor-elect Kelly and her team and am proud to say we are handing them a state on the rise,” said Gov. Jeff Colyer, M.D. “During my time in the governor’s office we have created 9,700 new non-agriculture jobs across Kansas, the state’s unemployment rate declined from 3.9% to 3.3% and the state’s personal wages have increased by 4.8%.”

Kelly said she was grateful to Gov. Colyer for his commitment to the transition. 

“Kansas will be better off due to his cooperation and support,” said Kelly. 

The transition process with begin right away. More information about the process is expected in the coming days.
